Would you like a preview of what to expect from Pearson Online Academy UK Global? For summer 2021, we’re running a free series of Taster Lessons for prospective students wanting to try out academy life for themselves.

Each interactive session will take place via Zoom, and offer young people the opportunity to experience the ins-and-outs of the LiveLesson format – a core feature of our blended learning approach that complements supported self-study.

Our engaging summer programme will encompass a wide range of subjects across the school syllabus, inviting students to explore with us from wherever they’re based in the world. As well as getting a feel for the functional aspects of the academy, attendees will be able to meet the teachers, and pose any questions they have about their subject or the school.

The series kicks off on Thursday 24 June 2021, with a Chemistry taster hosted by Simon Orchard, who teaches the subject from Year 10 to Year 13. In a mini-class aimed at International GCSE, he will give students a flavour of tone and pace, and open up opportunities for direct student-teacher engagement.

Advance registration is essential as places are limited, with working microphones and laptop or desktop computers recommended to make the most of the experience.
